Is there a way to run Horse renewal and convinent horses together? (without break textures)

I know on the page they said no mods were compatible with it but it said saddles shouldn't be a problem, is there a way to run these two mods together without the horse textures breaking. And if theres not is there a mod that allows followers to ride horses that isn't continent horses. These two mods work together on oldrim but not special edition.
