Nick3D
Hello everyone, I recently bought Skyrim and I started to play it, since I was very curious to test this game, even if I'm not a huge rpg fan, but I really enjoy it By the way I'm a huge supporter of modding, so as for Crysis, HL2 and others, I just wanted to start modding this game since it looks stunning. Right now the "only" problem that I have is that the supported 3d app to export .NIF files are Blender, 3DS and Maya.Unfortunately I'm using Softimage XSI, and from what I've seen there's no plugin available. The question is that I would like NOT to use another 3d app ( Blender, Max or Maya ) to export content into Skyrim, and unfortunately I can't find any usefull information about that. So, is there a way ( converter/standalone app/whatever ), once I exported a character from Softimage in FBX/DAE, to convert this file into a NIF file in order to be imported into Skyrim? I know that this can be done even with Blender ( free software, always welcome ) but is there is a standalone tool that allows me to do this ( even batch processing would be great ) I would like to test it Thanks
asdgora
You need to use Nifskope.Export as .obj from softimage, then import and edit in Nifskope then save as .nif.Keep in mind that you MUST learn how to use Nifskope. It's not a simple "import obj - export nif". There's a lot of editing to be done in Nifskope.Take a look at THIS tutorial.

Thanks for the answer, I already read that tutorial ( very informative by the way ) but I forgot to add something to my first post. I need to export animated character into Skyrim, and with NifSkope I don't think is possible, even because OBJ data don't have any animation info. Any tips?
