maxarturo
Hi everyone, and happy summer time !... I have finished the main structure and big construction part of my mod (i'm at 85% and 750mb without custom actors) and now I'm in the process of adding details to each cell, a few more clutter here and there and mainly and most important, atmosphere. During this process i noticed, (i did run and check the esp with Tes5Edit to be sure that it wasn't a potato that i did by mistake, and it turned out that after running Tes5Edit for the first time in this particularly esp, that i don't have not a single record - dirty edit), that Dawnguard has deleted the "DA13VineCeiling01NoCol" static. (Dawnguard was loaded to my mod after i finished this particular cell about six months ago, and i didn't noticed it till today that i started working again in this cell). - If i clean the Master files will this deleted static object be restore in my cells - mod, or i'll have to add them all from the beginning ?. (which will be a pain in the a** to add them again, the following next two cells also use the Da13VineCeiling01NoCol). - Does anyone have and uptodate tutorial on how to clean correctly the Master files ?, the ones that exists are outdated and since the last online tutorial Tes5Edit has done several updates. * Since my last Skyrim installation i keep forgetting to clean the master files... and now here i am... Thank you very much in advance whoever you are !. Edited June 5, 2019 by maxarturo
Tasheni
This tutorial about cleaning masterfiles should do:https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=818230170 Before you clean, save away your whole Skyrim data folder. For your special case I would try the following, after saving the whole data folder away:Save the files of your mod separately and remove all of your stuff from the data folder. Restore the Dawnguard.esp - you can verify the files with steam, but I guess you know that already. Clean the masterfiles and then copy your modfiles again into data folder and look what happened. Your mod should override then the Dawnguard cell. If Dawnguard added unwanted things, you can disable them instead of delete, so they should not respawn. I don't know exactly what your problem is, but perhaps this will help you. Greetings from Tasheni
maxarturo
I'm too close to finish at last the mod, so i decided to NOT experiment for just one static and end up with a bigger problem, so what i'll do is "undelete" the static from Dawnguard DLC using Tes5Edit, see if the objects are still loading in my esp and either way i'll remove them and add it as a standalone mesh along with the other meshes of the mod, this way other players that have not clean their master files won't be affected. Thanks Tasheni for replying !.
Ghaunadaur
Just make a duplicate of the form and use that in your mod. If the references you already added are still present in your .esp you can replace them with CTRL+F. Creation Kit has the habit to remove references if the base form is missing, so there's a chance they might be lost and you need to place again. maxarturo
I was afraid that this would be the case "CK removes references if the base form is missing".
