asbj0813
Hello all, please excuse me if I'm in the wrong forum. For months I've been working on a mod, which adds a new worldspace and some interiors. One of these is a player house. But recently I discovered, that the game crashes when exiting my player house. Entering works fine, but everytime I exit, there seems to get a CTD. I checked the door, reconnected it, used another one, and even tried to place it some where else in my player house. I checked the navmesh(no that I think it would cause any problems), and everything seems fine. Still I(and some of my testers) get these pretty annoying crashes. I put a lot of effort into this house, and it would be a shame to let it be forgotten because of a bug. So any help is really appreciated. Thank you, and have a continous nice day. David Brasher
Have you narrowed it down to your mod for sure? If you had things like missing meshes and textures , creatures with missing bones, excessive graphic modifications, too many NPCs in a small area, or excessive lag, you could have CTDs outside without even installing your mod. What happens when one of your play-tester characters travels to the area of your house without your mod activated? Skyrim is so glitchy that just because some of your play-testers can duplicate the problem sometimes is not completely conclusive. Maybe your testers are like-minded individuals that use the same type of mods that you do, and this does something bad to your house location. Another interesting test would be to link the inside door of your house to an entirely different location at the other end of Skyrim from where you wanted your house. Tamb0
By typing 'exit CTD' in the search box, you would have the answer to your question, before you'd even asked - Solution Search is your friend. Visit him often. :)
asbj0813
Thank you both of you for replying fast, and concerning the search tool, then I will have to agree that I was maybe a tad to eager to find a solution. Sorry for that, my mistake entirely  And as you proposed, David Brasher, then I should maybe try and link my mod to another worldspace than the one I created. That wouldn't be too much of a problem. As for mods I'm using, then I mostly just use standard esp-plugins(no graphics mods, not even enb's). Again, thanks for replying, it's good to know that there's always someone to answer the questions of a noob-modder
David Brasher
I just made my suggestions as tests for diagnostic purposes. Changing how your mod is should not be done lightly. Like you probably really want your house where it is at, and would not want to move it. So if you can find the root cause of the CTDs, then you could keep your house where it is. Tamb0's suggestion sounds like something interesting to try. If that is the problem, then you could just put installation instructions in your readme file that tell users to change the line in their .ini file.
