tbiehl1
Hi all, I use the latest version of SKSE to launch my Skyrim (previously tried running SKSE followed by the .exe and found it loaded the game twice, so now I just load SKSE). After installing roughly 10 new mods, I found that I wasn't able to open Skyrim from any loading source (Vortex, .exe, SKSE). I then disabled all of the mods and reinstalled 1 by 1 to find the mods that broke everything. I found that they were *surprise surprise* the mods I just downloaded. A few of the mods I downloaded are: - Build Your Noble House- Diverse Dragons Collection- Diverse Guards Skyrim- Diverse Skyrim- Civil War Aftermath My overall question is: Is your mod list like a pile that, after a certain point, can't hold anymore? Are the new mods ruining the load order (Vortex has an integrated LOOT system doesn't it?). Are there other factors that I should keep an eye out for? If I need to provide additional information please let me know!
rmm200
This is unrelated to Vortex, but we range wide. You don't specify Skyrim LE or Skyrim SE. Skyrim LE is more prone to crashes in general due to 32 bit engine and memory management. The hard limit for plugins (esps and esms) is 255. Many people push that limit, with reasonable game stability. There is no limit on texture replacers (no esps). Knock yourself out.Skyrim especially is sensitive to script-heavy mods. Limit those. Things like settlement builder and scrap everything. If you are on Skyrim SE - don't try to run mods for Skyrim LE unless they have been converted.Missing Masters will crash Skyim (either) before it gets to the Load screen.Keep going on those 10 mods. You should be able to isolate the specific mod at fault.
