devinpatterson - If your making holo weapons and armor you should check out this mod Holographic Armor FO3. StrykZ did a really good job of setting it up.

 

I like the holo armor mod, but essentially it's just a change to the alpha, whereas I'd like to see the holo shader effect on the armor, to make it like OWB and DM's holographics, it's a little trickier.

 

What I did was actually have two separate armors. One with the BOS recon suit that has emitters (little blue glowing discs) all over it at various spots that takes up your normal upper body slot. Then a 2nd armor (un/equipped by script when the 1st is) that is the T-51b that doesn't take up a body slot, has the holo shader effect (color, scan lines etc) and the holo script (which essentially changes alpha very quickly to get that flicker effect). It was to be the showpiece of Z-38's holographic armor and weapons division.

 

It's nice because it's very different from teh holomod your reference above and looks just like the holo effect in OWB & DM, very lore friendly. But I got a little side tracked on other projects.

I don't know if that would help make a weapon useless you can convince the person who made the mod to help with this idea,

You mean change the alpha and add a glowmap like the Holographic Armor FO3 mod Flamenx01 referenced? If you gonna go that way I'd recommend you do it on the chinese sword or a orginal sword mesh.....seems like that would fit a holo sword better than a police baton.

 

But I'd go with the holo shader effect. It fits much closer to OWB tech and seems to me, therefore, a much better fit with NV lore.

Sounds pretty cool and unique I'll be keeping an eye out for that mod then :biggrin:
