I HIGHLY recommend using Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM) and installing ALL (I MEAN EVERYTHING) as OMOD files to avoid mods conflicts, ease in activating/deactivating/updating/patching mods and to ensure proper directory structure installation.

Check out my FCOM Install Guide for tips on properly installing OMOD files. (You don't need to be running an FCOM game to use the guide there is a ton of general info for new modders in it.)

NOTE: The following files and folders go into your "...\Oblivion\Data\" directory.

“.esp”

“.esm”

“.bsa”

“\meshes” Contains sub folders with "nif" files.

“\textures” Contains sub folders with "dds" files

“\distantLOD”

"\Music"

"\Sound"

other folders etc...

If you have "nif" or "dds" files outside of their respective directors then you have one or more mods installed improperly and will get big nasty yellow icons in game.

Best of luck & happy modding
