Mator's merge plugin

Recommended Posts

So I got to the last part of building a merge.. ya know the part where the box pops up and you can see mods checked off. You're supposed to uncheck the mods only leaving your newly named merge checked off. I realized I left something out, so I just closed FNV Edit all together, leaving everything still checked. I remember Mator saying that leaving anything other than the merge esp checked would be a very bad idea.. only thing is that I never hit OK, I just closed everything out.. Am I screwed? I feel like I am

As I recall (which might be a jumbled mix from earlier versions), when you have any plugins in the "save" box checked they are written out when you close that window; regardless of which button you use. I changed my behavior ages ago to uncheck everything I didn't want saved just in case, so I'm not certain if Mator altered that part of the UI later on. Check the "<MPS Dir>\logs\merge\" files for that date of your save to see exactly which files were written out.

The new "merged plugin" is saved to the "<MPS Dir>\merges" folder and not to the game "Data" folder. You have to manually copy the new merge file to "Data", so you should always have the opportunity to backup the previous version of the file. Of course, if you are running MPS from within a "mod manager" then you will have to see how they handle that situation.
