atneosen91
Hey folks, So I recently started throwing around armor pieces and stuff in nifskope, and have a question. See, some items are one model even though, well, they're not. Like a pair of shoulderpads for example. So how would I go about seperating them if I wanted, say, only the left shoulder? David Brasher
That is major surgery in Blender. It would involve things like duplicating points, and removing edges to sever connections between points. Not a lot of face work I wouldn't imagine. The Blender controls are sort of like those used for navmeshing cells in the CK. If you don't have any experience with Blender, it might take you three long miserable days of work to learn the program good enough that you can begin your attempt at splitting a mesh. atneosen91
Hmm, very well, suppose I'll have to look up on some tutorials then. Thanks.
GileadMaerlyn
"Major surgery"? You just have to select the part you want to separate and hit the P key... What you say we have to do is automatically done by blender. Edited September 1, 2012 by Gilead Maerlyn
David Brasher
It is a matter of debate whether or not Blender is an easy program to learn. Many people love it and say it is the easiest thing in the world. And then there are the rest of the people. Successfully installing Blender so that it can run on your particular computer can sometimes take awhile, and importing and exporting meshes can seem pretty complicated to a beginner. I am no expert on Blender, and it seems pretty hard to use to me. The type of modding I have done has mostly been with the CS and CK.
frankdema
@atneosen i'm a noob just like you, blender can look strange at a first sight but i can assure you that after one or two weeks of "exploration" you'll be able to make some mash up armor very easily...modeling requires quite more experience, but time is your friend, just fool around and you'll be able to make something more articulate than simply throwing mesh arounf in nifskope!
