Squeecky Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 (edited) I reinstalled my Fallout 3 from a backup, forgot to put the saves in - no problem I retrieved my old saves. And now when I try to load them (got the exact same mods etc.) it says "null" when hovering over the games to load ingame, yet in My Documents they're properly sized files. I had a months time if not more in more then one of the games, I don't want to start over.. Anybody any ideas? Edit: in Fomm they show up properly aswell. Though once again the all too common bug where a new game crashes. Edited September 1, 2012 by Squeecky
GrindedStone Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I would uninstall the game. The play something else for a week. Use a registry cleaner too. Come back an start over. What you are doing is breaking the game. It's not all to common. You are doing something wrong so forget how you have been doing it. Start with the Vanilla game an get that running. Only use the thread limiter if you have a 4 core CPU. Then also use the 4Gb enabler. Test the game a while. Install the DLC test it some more. You should patch for this test as well. After you know it's good then drop in a mod. That's one single mod, an continue the test. Repeat... Once you get a list of them. Merge patch or bashed patch. Clean the mods. Start a new game. Enjoy playing for 8 hours without crashing.
Squeecky Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 ..Then I still loose everything. :/
GrindedStone Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Did you buy the game or did you steal it?
Squeecky Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 What? I've played it for years, I've been able to do this before - What does this all have to do with the fact my savegames aren't working, yet all over the internet it says you should be able to.
GrindedStone Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) If you stole it, then it would be more likely to not work as intended or designed. I've seen the Nulled saves before. It means it's broken, re-install the game, drop the saves into that new install. If they still do it, the saves are broken. If you don't want to give up, then give up more information for us to work with. *edit* You could also try deleting the config folder, move your saves outside of it an just delete it. Then launch the default launcher again to generate them. Is this Windows 7? Edited September 4, 2012 by GrindedStone

Squeecky Posted September 5, 2012 Author Posted September 5, 2012 (edited) Found the problem, I'm up to A1 in load order, and anytime I try to select one more thing or so.. It simply does not work, it's like it's a limit of ESPs I can use.. Yet it's an advanced computer compared to my last one, and I'd hate to have to get rid of so many of my mods. Edit: And I cannot make new saves either. Is there anyway that would let me edit the storyline, sort off? I mean, like a savegame editor so I don't have to do it all over again? I just finished Project Purity and don't want to do that all over. Edited September 5, 2012 by Squeecky
