Oblivion Graphical mods for low end system?

Hey guys,

I'm moving to london for a couple of weeks for work - but unfortunately none of my friends are around at the time so I'm expecting to be very bored.

I'm going to be developing as well but I thought It might be fun to play through oblivion again whilst I'm there - but with mods this time (My first play through was clean). In particular I'd love to try out some graphical mods.

The only problem is I won't have my desktop with me. Only my old macbook pro running W7 on bootcamp

It has the following specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 ghz

4GB DDR3 Ram

nVidia GeForce 9600M GT (256 MB VRAM)

The big weak point there is the graphics card (though I'm also concerned about the HDD as it only runs at 5400 and sometimes feels slow as f***).

My question is, are there any nice graphical overhaul mods that will run sensibly on my system - or should I just play vanilla for 2 weeks and then move the saves over to my desktop when I get back and mod from there?

Cheers in advance for any responses :)

I know nothing of 'bootcamp' but I do know some mods which may help. I also can list some which will NOT help.

Help:

Low poly grass

ini tweaks

Not Help:

obge

better cities

Unique landscapes

While most mods will not affect frame rates, some of them do. Especially ones which add a lot of texture detail (like Quarl's Texture Pack). Most house mods are fine. You can use many mods which enhance or change the gameplay, but not all. Obse doesn't take any more resources to run than vanilla oblivion. It just adds more functions. Most house mods, quests, weapon and armor mods are fine. You should check out Armamentarium, the Armory of the Silver Dragon and Bob's armory. You will need to merge the Leveled Lists with a bashed patch if you use all 3. Wrye Bash should run fine provided you have all the libraries available for Windows 7. You can also check out The Oblivion Quests Links by devakm. There should be plenty of quests there for you to play.

To improve graphics with little or no fps loss, try using just the ENB Color Effect of OBGE, and/or Lush and Gaudy Water. I use both on my Acer Aspire notebook, lol. It has no real video card and a 1.00Ghz cpu, but I can still use those graphical mods without noticeable fps loss. Another option is Alluring Potion Bottles. It makes bottles look great, and since they're just bottles there isn't a noticeable performance hit.

This graphical mod is another relatively low-impact, high performance favorite: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/38204
