TheMansonator
Right, I've attempted to run Fallout 3 again for the first time in a while and installing a few mods for it to keep the thing a little fresh. I changed the .ini file so that the game only runs on 2 cores. I've added d3d9.dll. I've turned off different mods each time to see if the game will load, and it does nothing. Perhaps I've screwed the load order a little, but there's not many mods in there. Can anyone help? blove
You are missing the FOOK2 1.2 Open Beta Hotfixes and the WMKFOOK2 Compatibility Patches. EVE is integrated in FOOK2 and you will need a merged patch since you are using the WMK DLC plugins. None of which should cause the game to not load. Completely clean Data directory? Are you trying to load an old save rather than a new game?
SpartanVOO1
And see FOIP for some info about load order
TheMansonator
Hmm, I did wonder about the hotfixes. When BOSS came up with errors, I did kinda get a bit antsy about the hotfixes. But just to say, it's not even gotten to the point of allowing me to open a new game or continue one. It just crashes right upon startup. The "Bethesda Softworks" slide comes on, and if I'm lucky the game doesn't crash until I hit the next slide. I hit the same problem with Oblivion a while back, where it would just crash when attempting to start it. I might just reinstall the game again and hopefully that might fix something I possibly have done.
blove
Crashing on startup is usually a missing master, but I can not imagine what it would be with that load order. Since you are not using DarnUI, hopefully you did NOT rename the ";Menus" folder to "Menus" from the "FOOK_v1-2_Open_Beta_Main_Files-4448-1.7z" archive. If you did, just delete/rename the "Menus" folder in your "Data" folder. Uncheck all but the vanilla plugins and try starting the game.
GrindedStone
Windows 7 themes will also cause crash at start up. You can avoid it by personalize, an use the basic windows theme. Also you can disable themes on the .exe in properties compatibilty. Comp 4 Win XP SP3 an run as admin while you are there.
