Kataspie
I wasn't going to ask this, because I seriously thought they didn't exist and I didn't want to look like a moron. Plus anything that doesn't actually exist I prefer not to have in game for realism's sake. However, after doing some research and playing "Army of Two the 40th Day" and realising they do exist...... Has anyone or will anyone make a shotgun supressor for those like me who love shotguns but rely more on stealth?.....there's an impact punch to the head if I ever saw one. Also, anyone ever consider making subsonic shotgun shells?

Also, anyone ever consider making subsonic shotgun shells? Sure I can put that together for you if there isn't already one. But the ones I'v seen add a s-load of length to the weapon. Check the bottom of this page. Let me know what the silencer model you want to use looks like (link to the pic) and on what type of shotgun. As well as whether you want a unique single weapon or a weapon mod, and I can put it together for you.
Kataspie
Damn, I'm going to have buy you a Sunset Sarsparilla for the things you are doing for me, and that doesn't even begin to return the favour. Oddly enough I was looking at that page last night before collapsing into bed. I was thinking the 20 gauge Over and Under and maybe a 12 gauge version as well? Because that way if the mod were to be shared people would have a choice. I suppose it could be made for both 20 and 12 but I have a feeling that is not very realistic. Sincerely Kat. VaultPi
yes, they really do exist, the first scilencers were made for duck hunters not wanting to disturb the whole flock, however this works best if you have a lighter load of powder so that the explosion in the barrel's isn't that loud to begin with. Now if we want to do the full no country for old curiours, we need to get a captive bolt gun.
devinpatterson
No worries. I'v started with a unique 12ga hunting rifle called "Speak softly and carry a big stick" (Roosevelt). It has 6 shots, because the actual weapon the hunting rifle is based on (pretty sure), the Mossberg 535 All Purpose has 6 when you count the shotshell in teh chamber. Of course it's silent and I swapped out the textures for teh 1st person ones, to give it a little more detail in 3rd person. Other than that bog standard....might make a re-texture in the future. It's a beta because the sighting node is not co-operating. It's gonna take some work now that the bead is much higher, on the silencer itself. It's here, just unrar into your data folder Went a little more off of the TacOps version (No Country for Old Men), since the Hushpowers were insanely long. http://www.cinemablend.com/images/reviews/2404/_11882655127917.jpg http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u404/devinlpatterson/12b5f2a7.jpg Edited September 4, 2012 by devinpatterson

TrooperScooperMKII
Something that I can't stand- silencers don't work AT ALL like movies/games depict them.. they simply lower the sound to a more manageable 100 DB or so (still enough for hearing damage, louder than shouting) but serve to suppress the muzzle flash and scatter the sound.Actually something like that could work in Fallout... IIRC the "silenced" aspect simply means that the AI doesn't automatically know your position. So just create a mild "detection event" at the gun and two or three in a random cone in front of the shooter...if my limited understanding of the game is correct, NVS awesome stealth mechanics would then compel nearby drones to "spread out and search" eg. move to the randomly created events (if you're close enough then the "mild" event would give you away...) which would be an epic game of cat and mouse for snipers, far removed from the boring "headshot, can't here me, headshot can't hear me" stealth s**t currently prevalent. Sorry if I'm not clear.

I could try manipulating the sound file, lower hte volume on it. But I think the detection level only has like 3 options, silent, normal and loud, not exactly fine control.
