Clean reinstall, Crashes at launch

Do you by chance use Vista, with a High powered GEforce video card? Perhaps on a Dell? Have you downloaded and installed the Official Oblivion patch?

If so, your options are few except for a clean reboot.

1- go to the GEforce site and update your driver(don't worry, it's free)

2- go to Oblivion shortcut icon, Right click, go to properties, go to compatibility, and select an older Windows, XP works.

3- Using your startup disk for your drivers, reinstall them.

Try these steps one at a time. After each one, see if it fixes the problem. If you reach the end of #3 and it still won't work, you'll have to do a clean, complete reboot of your computer. Backup all the files you want to keep before this, of course.

Sorry, forget to mention the details.

On windows XP, service pack 2, Video card is a Nvidia 9600GT which in my opinions woops arse but probably isnt considered high-powered anymore. Drivers are as updated as they'll ever be.
