Avoozuul
well the idea sprung up i its bugging me so i thought I'd share the idea here and see if it is possible to create it (even though it seems like it will be possible) well the idea is to make an activator for candles to turn them on and off and ether making it npc only or both npc and player most likely both would be better and the npcs turn them on/off when they do it before going to bed, reading, eating & well whatever would make sence so would it be a nice subtle change or really useless which is up to your opinion on the modification :P
Vagrant0
Candles which can be turned off and on was one of the first few mods for the game, if I recall, so it isn't a silly or useless idea. The problem however is making the AI do anything with these candles. It it that part which doesn't work too well since this behavior is not part of the NPC base coding. In short, in order to do this, every NPC you would want to do this would need to be specially scripted and packaged for each light you wanted them to turn on and off. And likewise, every light you wanted an NPC to turn on/off would need to be made a persistant object. It is in doing that part that this idea falls apart. You might be able to pull it off for one or two quest related NPCs, but trying to make it work with every NPC would be quite alot of work, would probably cause some performance issues (depending on how many lights you had per NPC), may interfere with other NPC behavior, and probably wouldn't be noticed 95% of the time. Controlling groups of lights based on a timer, without the NPC having to go to each light individually however is a bit easier task.
