shadey81
just wondering what female skyrim players thought about the fact most mods for female armour/clothing means they wear very little and show a lot of T&A, does it bother you, is it something you accept because most gamers are men and that's what they are going to make if they make a mod. Satorinu
While I'm male, I've read enough of these threads and knew at one point / still know a decently good share of female gamer who are Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim lovers to essentially say exactly what they've said. 1.) It's just a game & OMGAH that may be skimpy but it's SO sexy!! (and have proceeded to ask me to buy similar outfits RL. OH Thank you Oblivion, you were worth every penny. Also special thanks to the Hentai group and a few other creative armor modders, she found you and fell in  ) 2.) It's not realistic or to my taste, but to each their own. I won't use it, but I get why some would. 3.) Who cares? I want MALE skimpy armors to go with it! [proceeds to talk about buldge] 4.) It's so sexist and degrading, I hate these mods. (My personal opinion = #2) In the end it's like everything else, some LOVE it.. some won't care.. and some HATE it. On another note though, I try to only get to know the ones who love or simply don't care, kind of a test of sorts (male or female).. if they find things like a game's mods offensive they also tend to be well - hard for me to get along with, on average easily offended by way to much -- though even then there are exceptions where skimpyness is the one thing that really sets a person off and everything else is fine. Point being : oh diversive world, how complicated must thy be! :ohdear: Edited September 3, 2012 by Satorinu

nuska
My biggest gripe with them is that most are rather poorly done in terms of technical and artistic execution and a lot of them eschew basic rules of anatomy and physics. Usually I just find them funny and rather sad - it's no skin off my nose if someone wants to use them, but it does dishearten me a little to see well done quality armors get far less recognition than T&A outfits of much lower technical and creative skill level. This. I have no problem with well made skimpy outfits. However, some of them are just plain tasteless. You can make a sexy outfit without revealing anything, make the imagination fill in the blanks. Skimpy armours do annoy me from a realism standpoint, especially if they are given really good stats. I like my armour to look like it could save your life, not fall off with one sword swipe. So really my problem with skimpy armour mods is not about the idea of boobs everywhere but mainly about realism. I use revealing clothes on my female enchantress, I use good solid leather armour on my dual wielding swordswoman.

This ... Though candor compels me to admit that I created a VERY skimpy armor retex, just because I'm the sort of person who LOVES poking hornets nests with a stick ... I DO however get a little annoyed with some of the "anime" based armors, not because they are "skimpy" but because the time, effort and skill that went into making them is extraordinary, but ... sheesh ... They look b****y RIDICULOUS!
nuska
It's just a quality thing for me. I seriously cringe whenever I find specular maps consisting of 2048x2048 white pixels, but that goes for a lot more than just porny mods - it's just more prevalent in them. Another personal gripe is advertising a mod as HD when it's just a blown-out and blurred vanilla normal map. That's not how it works and it's a waste of performance impact. >:I
AnkhAscendant
My main thoughts on (well-done) ones in order: 1) Ooh, that's pretty and sexy... 2) ...but not very realistic, is it? Hard to protect things like heart and lungs when you're showing that much cleavage. 3) Well, dang it, I hardly ever play female characters, so I guess it doesn't matter to me anyway. Can't I have something sexy for my male characters to wear? :P So I guess in a few seconds my mind covers three of the first respondent's four common responses, although with a distinct disinterest in bulge ^^

StayFrosty05
42 year old female here....yes, I think age often has an effect on perception...am just so over all the hype....too old for that sh*t.... :ohdear: .... I love some skimpy armors....dislike others....I do like some modicum of realism in them...and as such High Heels really bug me as does the anime' stuff, it just looks ridiculous...I also don't think much of the 'Peep Hole' Armors, where it's just the females breasts and genitals exposed...it looks too obvious.....But a near naked topless female, rear end exposed, even all exposed, etc...can look very beautiful and I use many myself (I have a rather exposed Skyrim... ...) so long as it doesn't look like a deliberate "LOOK AT THOSE BOOBS, ETC...." peep show. Like AnkhAsendant, I don't play female characters either....I love my male Nord, his my happy eye candy and I just wish there was some nice revealing armors for him too....I am working on that though....am trying hard to learn how to mod armors myself and then will be able to dress him as I please..... ....he won't be wearing much....
