AvP II

Greetings,

 

has anybody managed to get this great game working on Vista 64? I was looking forward to re-playing it on my new, kick arse box but alas, cannot get it to start even in compatibility modes.

 

I've been hoping for an answer on the AvP II board for a while now and none has been forthcoming.

I was rather surprised by this since the games are not only listed on the Vista compatible list but I've also read posts about people having no issue running them.

 

I am having the problem it seems a few have posted about here but I've not seen any resolution for. I've tried on both my 32 and 64 bit boxes and the game just will not launch. It seems to start processing for a few seconds and then.... nothing. I've tried compatibility mode right back to '98 and running as admin (although that isn't necessary on my 64 bit box anyway). It is not a UAC problem and I have the game patched all the way up.

 

Did anybody manage to resolve this issue please? I'd love to go back and see how AvP II is on my new gaming box.
