Skyrim crashes while loading the script for the bleak falls barrow lev

Hi I just re-installed my skyrim after having mod issues, and all was going fine until I decided to do the quest for the golden claw.

Once I got in to bleak falls barrow and killed the first two bandits, I proceeded as normal down the hallway towards the first puzzle.

On my way down the hall my game suddenly freezes. I have my ini set to create log files so I checked them over and towards the bottom saw this,

So i was wondering if any one here has seen this before/may be able to help me fix it.

 

I have tried:

re-installing my core skyrim files

validating the integrity of my game through steam

defraging my game files through steam

creating a completely new character

 

All of these attempts have done noting to fix my issue. I would be very thankful if someone could help me fix this.

are you all using patch 1.8? that has been known to cause bugs in quests, same if you have some or all the DLCs

 

if you need to revert to patch 1.7 i have a copy of the update.esm and update.bsa, email me and i'll send it to you

 

i highly doubt all of you are running vanilla, so post your mod lists

I've got the same exact issue as these guys, as far as mods I've got Drink Eat Sleep, the sounds of skyrim, and then several of the graphics collections Graphics and Sounds +++ and Towns and Villages Enhanced: Collection. If I had to guess it's got something to do with one of the lighting mods or something like that?

 

...Well that was simple, I ended up fixing the problem entirely but just lowering my graphics settings a single notch, and now the game works just fine and doesn't freeze. Did this solve it for you guys too?

I had this problem too, and lowering my graphics setting from high to medium fixed the problem. Proceed past the point where the bandit is killed by the arrow trap, then set your graphics back to however you choose. No idea what's up with it, but this solution seems to work. Thanks angan :)

For me, the fix here was different: Never use stealth when in Bleak Falls Barrow.

 

I tried changing all the graphics settings, no dice. Tried uninstalling mods - I have 200+ - and no love there either. And I've stealthed through Bleak Falls Barrow many times, no problem. But then the patch arrived.

 

I am no fan of forced updates. I don't like it when a game I've owned for years and modded beyond all recognition suddenly breaks for no apparent reason. I used to have my Steam games set to "Do Not Update" until one day they replaced this option with three varieties of "Yes! Keep me updated at all times!"

 

A big raspberry to Steam, and of course Bethesda as well.

 

But I digress. Avoid stealth and you should be fine.

Hey Guys i am having a problem in this quest when i get out of dragonsreach, and we find guards talking to housecarl. when they finish talking my games crashes to the desktop. does anyone have any solution for this????.
