Akrid
So if you're an american, I suggest you pick up another language and get a different perspective of the what the world thinks about us (that and this crap about us not learning second languages it completely elitist; the public school system should require fluency in a second language before high school graduation). I 100% agree I am so mad that I was jipped out of that, they started teaching me french as early as the fith grade and I was learning, but then they closed the classes to my grade level becaus ethey said we where too young for the curriculem (sp?) my edjemication sux. when your young is the best time to learn another language, those bastards, nowonder american school kids are so violent, our school systems are retarded, oh what was the subject? Corps and the news, ok, bad! both bad. we rely on other peole to run our lifes and the world. We slowly lose power, what we hear is what they tell us, how we live is whats assigned before we are even born, what we buy is what they give, what we eat is what they approve, what we smoke what ever cancerus crap they can tax. This world is growing too advanced for our own good, I forsee a new dark age. Oh well :tongue2: Hitler used media to mind contol people. Hmmmm, remember that show that was a parody of bush called "thats my bush"? whatever happened to that? Did it offend Bush? America censores stuff too much, idiots are always trying to pass new stupid laws and take away our freedom little by little. I always take what I watch on the news with a grain of salt. Mojlnir
Okay Modman, (since you necroed this one) where do you get off telling what I should have respect for? Have you been living in a cave or are you still out picking daisies with the rest of the LaLa Gang? Corporate controlled, government monitored media is a fact of life. You must search long and hard to find information that has not been tainted by either of the aforementioned groups. Take for example the recent scandals in the US concerning "reporters" who were paid by the administration to promote policies as good for the country. "No Child Left Behind," which should have been left in the damn woods, got touted as this great policy and...oops...it sucks. Very few people in MSM are standing up to say what's going on isn't right. I'm not advocating a return to Walter Cronkite's one source days of yore, but I would like to see a little journalistic integrity. I have no respect for paid hacks who try to tell me what I should believe in. I have no respect for journalists who won't press issues and look for the whole truth. And I have no respect for those idiots on shows like "Crossfire" who claim to being "reporting" events. It's hard to fathom that most Americans (gotta go with what I know) can't tell the difference between punditry, commentary and actual journalistic reporting. And those that can don't seem to give three s**ts. So, Modman, you go ahead and respect whatever you want. If you believe what they're selling, then I have a really nice bridge in Brooklyn that I would like to sell you. Oh, and if you can find your way to the nearest library I suggest you pick up a book called 1984 by George Orwell.
