MrSly
Ok, I had no idea there was more than one Sleep AI Package that said, if you have clothes, remove armor, equip clothes, go to sleep. I figured there was only going to be one common one that handled this supposedly common action, not dozens of them. At least that's how I'd write it if I were a software developer. This modding of Oblivion is much more complex than I imagined. How does everyone keep it all straight? Sounds like there's a LOT of redundant code in there. Must be insane trying to find all the places you need to make changes.

LoginToDownload
AI Packages can be edited, and new ones created, but they don't have that much depth. One "unequip armor" flag, and one "unequip weapon" flag. You can't actually use them to govern what they equip instead, but I'm almost completely sure it's the most valuable clothing they have. Most Vanilla NPCs already have these enabled on their Sleep packages.
SickleYield
I use both CM Partners companions and the newer version of Toaster's Companion Share and Recruit. All of my companions will, when told to sleep, remove armor and equip clothing if they have any. If not, they will sleep nude. If you have Companion S&R you can give pajamas to just about anyone and remove default clothing if that's your thing.
MrSly
So basically I'm hearing that there is no practical way to achieve this. Too bad... I appreciate everyone's input. Thank you all. :thanks: Sly
LoginToDownload
What I was saying is that "if is armored, remove armor and put clothes on if applicable" is already implemented, aside from mods that don't bother.
MrSly
Right, it's already there. So I've been wanting to know if it is possible to modify the "put on clothes" portion of the AI package to look at what's inside some kind of container, and select which clothes to put on from there? So far as I understand it, it IS possible, but only if dozens of NPC sleep packages are modified. And like I said, I have a hard time believing that there isn't just one or two places this package is performed. But, again, I have no idea what is involved in modifying ANYTHING in this game. And modifying an AI package must be very difficult. I just thought it might be fun, but if it's difficult at best, it's probably not worth it.
