CitoX27
I don't know if this is a common problem or if there even is a fix for this, but the overlays on my character don't render through the water.I have Realistic Water Two installed.
doereoh
I get a similar bug when I try to wear Stockings, Nylons, or Armor with transparencies!I've searched online many times and the best thing I found was a post about editing the Tattoos in Nifskope.I was feeling impatient to at the time and have yet to try learning anything Nifscope related. So I didn't finish reading the entire post to see if someone succeeded. But if I recall it had to do with editing an alpha layer value...so it's probably not too complicated.I should just download it and try because I would really love to fix this issue. Here's the link: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/41n5nj/texture_under_transparent_texture_disappearing/
FocusVarna
if you guys never figured it out or if anyone in the future needs help, you can fix this without using nif. i found out from a forum on loverslab (lul) that you can go into skee64.ini (not skse, its skee) and change the values in [Overlays/Data] iAlphaFlags=4845 ; Default[4845] ---> iAlphaFlags=4844 ; Default[4845] iAlphaThreshold=0 ; Default[0] ---> iAlphaThreshold=128 ; Default[0]

anjenthedog
fwiw, presuming you used a stock installation, the location is /Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim Special Edition/Data/SKSE/Plugins And thank you for the info Focus Varna, I see the same behaviors from certain pieces of clothing and hadn't really paid any mind to it... Oddly/Ironically enough, the solution is baked right into skee64.ini, as seen in mine prior to me changing the associated values. [Overlays/Data] ; Assigns these alpha properties to all overlays when they are applied ; 4844, 128 is recommended for solid overlays (they will render correctly underwater) ; Changing the overlay's alpha value ingame acts like 4845 regardless of assigned flags iAlphaFlags=4845 ; Default[4845] iAlphaThreshold=0 ; Default[0] sDefaultTexture=textures\actors\character\overlays\default.dds EDIT/UPDATE: I tried changing the values. Upon loading the game, My character's skin became pitch black. I reverted the changes and she's back to normal. Did I miss something? below are what I changed (when she went dark, and yes I really mean pitch black) iAlphaFlags=4844 ; Default[4845] iAlphaThreshold=128 ; Default[0]

anjenthedog
I've got the same problem, what's your load order look like?Totally different than it did 5 months ago. Honestly, it's never been a "problem" for me, it was just a non harmful oddity that I observed.
