Inquart
Hello everyone! So, I'm having a little lizard problem and I hope someone can help me deal with it. I'm playing Skyrim for a long time now (it's my third gameplay) and my Nord warrior/rogue is close to level 61, but only a few days ago - after beating the Companions and Thieves Guild questlines, discovering most if not all of in-game locations and doing hundreds of side and misc quests, including most of the daedric ones - did I completed "Dragon Rising", which as you all probably now makes the dragons to appear in their lairs and at random. Now, when I was fighting Mirmulnir (the first dragon encountered, the one attacking Western Watchtower), I noticed that he was rather weak and Irileth and the guards could fairly kill him without my help; I've of course weakened him with only a few shots from my death-dealing, legendary Daedric Bow, but those guard took care of the rest before I decided to reload and deliver the killing blow myself, as a Dovahkiin should. Dragon's apparent weakness might have been tied to my current level (i. e. I was too powerful at the moment for that fight to be a challenge), so I shrugged and went on, on my way back to Whiterun clearing out Eldersblood Peak lair, guarded by a Revered Dragon. Later - on my way to Markarth as a Dark Brotherhood member - I was attacked by a dragon and killed it after a few swings; problem is - it was a Dragon, I mean the basic, weakest form. I started to suspect something is wrong, so I decided to complete "Mourning Never Comes" and then go for some dragon hunting. Being in Windhelm in order to send Nilsine Shatter-Shield to the Void, I went to Mount Anthor and cleared it out too - it was home to an Ancient Dragon. To the point, as I tend to elaborate - if I understand everything correctly, dragons attacking me at random at my current level should be either Ancient or Revered ones, as it stands in Skyrim wiki. Why am I encountering only those basic Dragons in random attacks (it happened more than once now) then? Is it so that they appear throughout the rest of the game along with the level-depended variants? I'm getting a little confused here. I'm running a few mods, two of them being unnoficial patches for both Skyrim itself and Dawnguard, while the rest are making rather cosmetic than any practical changes (like SkyUI, Enhanced Blood or Real Rain, i. e. nothing that should mess with dragons). It's not a big, game-killing problem, but I'd like those random attacks to be some king of challenge and that one fight with Revered Dragon was really memorable and not so easy as I expected, so I really wouldn't mind meeting more of them instead of basic Dragons. Perhaps if I get to level 78, at which point Legendary Dragons should begin to appear, things will get back to normal, but it's still a few levels away. Anyway, if anyone could help me somehow with that little problem of mine I'd be utterly grateful. Sorry for my English if I made some mistakes and thanks in advance for all the help! Moraevik
Do you have any "de-leveling" mods installed? It could be that some of these "rebalancing" mods are causing lower level enemies to spawn at greater frequencies for you. As for Mirmulnir, his level ranges from 10 to 50. With a top of 50 and you at level 60 with uber equipment it's no wonder he didn't have much of a chance.
Inquart
Thanks for clearing out Mirmulnir case. As of mods - I am currently using only six: Enhanced Blood Textures, Immersive Skyrim Thunder V5, Lightning during Thunder Storms, Real Rain, Serious HD Retexture, SkyUI; and unofficial patches for Skyrim and Dawnguard. That's it, no more mods. I'll try to play a bit more, maybe those level-dependend dragons will eventually appear at some point. Anyway, thanks for a reply! Edit: Problem solved, I think. While on a contract for the Dark Brotherhood to kill a vampire in Half-Moon Mill, I was attacked by a Revered Dragon (damn, they're ugly!).
