bigzigno
I imported my mods from NMM, following the instructions listed here: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Migrating_to_Vortex_from_another_Mod_Manager#Importing_your_mods
rmm200
By chance do you have or can you conveniently get archives (.zip, .rar, etc) of all your mods?I should have asked about NMM two pages back...
bigzigno
Sorry about the late reply, where would I find the archives?
rmm200
If you don't back up your mods, you would probably have to download them again.Vortex has a Downloads directory where archives all go.No idea if NMM saves all archives somewhere.Imports from NMM? No idea. Worth looking in the Vortex Downloads folder though. If Vortex does have an archive for your mod, click on the mod. There will be a right side dropdown for Reinstall. At this point you may well want to ask for help from someone else. I have satisfied myself your Import from NMM failed, And you will not like what I have to say next... Open Vortex, Click Purge.Clean your game directory of everything not installed by Bethesda. That includes Data/Textures, Meshes, and Scripts, and any esps/bsas not from Bethesda.Use Steam to Validate your game directory. It will replace anything you were too exuberant in deleting. Start your game from Steam. Verify it works.Install SKSE64 manually. Follow the directions - make sure you include the Data folder. Open Vortex. Select all mods and click the bottom icon that says Disable. Now back to your famous SkyUI. I would like you to install a clean copy, but maybe Reinstall will work.Enable it and Deploy. You now have exactly one enabled mod.Launch your game. Make sure skse_launcher runs the game.At this point you better find an MCM menu - or I am finding a new career. Now you can start reenabling your mods. Do not use any as is - download a new copy or try Reinstall.Do a few at a time 5 or 10 say. Test after each batch.Doing all this will take less time than you have already wasted on this problem. If that is any consolation. Your clean game directory will thank you.Any time in the future you can click Purge in Vortex and your game directory should return to a pristine state. Click Deploy again - and in a few seconds all your mods are active again.
bigzigno
Thanks for all your help, but I think I'm going to cut my losses and just move back to NMM. Vortex has proven to be more trouble than its worth.
rmm200
Thanks for all your help, but I think I'm going to cut my losses and just move back to NMM. Vortex has proven to be more trouble than its worth. You are welcome back in the future if you want to try Vortex on a smaller scale. We will encourage you to start simple - start small though. Just a few mods on a game you have not used NMM with.
