Shadowcran
In the beginning, hooking up mods can be a learning process. It's best to start with ONE mod and then gain more and more as you learn. One mod that may help you quickly is the small download FCOM helper. This mod auto sorts your load order. The loading order of mods is very important, and not using a tool for this means some mods load at the same time(resulting in CTD or crash to desktop) or load incorrectly(also resulting in a CTD). http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16375 DL files 1 & 4. Install 1 first, then 4. Then put the file in the proper place(the read me will tell you where) and execute. In 2 seconds, it'll auto order the mods you're using. There are other tools such as the Oblivion Mod Manager. Download this one as well, but go slow on learning it. I usually recommend Wrye Bash instead, but it can be complicated for a beginning modder. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2097 A lot of mods use the OBSE or Oblivion Script Extender. You'll also need to dl the latest version. http://obse.silverlock.org/ With these tools in hand, you're ready to begin modding. It doesn't take long to learn how to use them and before long, you'll be on Nexus like me, helping others solve problems.
