Open-face and Beast Race-Friendly Version/Patch for Shadowscale Set

The Shadow Scale Set 2.0 for SSE is a dead mod, the author has not updated since 2016. It is a beautiful custom armor and weapon mod with artful and lore-friendly custom textures and meshing. Unfortunately (and ironically), the mod was not created to be compatible with Beast Races (Shadowscales are argonians lore-wise). An additional request of making the helm open-faced for aesthetic purposes would also be appreciated if at all possible. Neither the armor nor sword and dagger are temperable either (CK fix is easy enough for most since it is an .esp) as additional information.

I just took a look at the file contents on the mod's page. It also looks like they only included _1 size models, so you may experience some issues with weight slider support. Unfortunately, I don't have Oldrim installed, so I can't download the original from steam, and see if they exist there.

Bearing in mind my extremely limited experience with this, you may have luck making it fit beast races in CK, because it's a closed face. I can't tell from the pics, though, if it's fully closed (guard helmets) or if it has eyes visible. Assuming it's fully closed, open up the hood in CK. Look down at the Armor Addons block, at the bottom of the armor form for the hood itself, and make sure "show all" is checked, though it doesn't look like there are enough meshes to support more than one. When that armor addon opens, you should see a list of races which can use the helm, as well as a list of what body parts it hides when worn. If it is full coverage, like a guard helmet, leave those alone and just check the argonian, khajiit, and orc races, as well as their vampire equivalents, so they are all highlighted as well as any other you want to be able to wear it. It "should" then fit you.

If it has some openings and/or is converted to an open face helmet, then the body parts it hides will have to be changed, and you will have horns, feathers, ears, tusks, etc., clipping through the hood. Sometimes you get lucky, and it looks like the hood was made for exposed ears, and sometimes it doesn't work so well. If you aren't sure what it covers, look at an guard's helmet and a steel helmet, as well as both their armor addons, and you'll see the differences in coverage. This is one of those things I end up arguing with, every single time I try to change one, so don't be discouraged if it does strange things. Always ends up trial and error for me.

Hope it helps some.
