slzy
Often mooted, but really never understood why this can't be done. Surprised this wasn't a feature of Skyrim as it makes perfect sense from a xbox live perspective and steam etc. It would be amazing to 'share' your journey with a friend or friend/s. Would you like to see this as an option in future TES games?
RitualBlack
The idea of an online elderscrolls game has been attempted since at least Morrowind. There were a few large projects for Oblivion (example) and there is also Skyrim Online. I would enjoy a drop in/out TES game but I think we will have to wait a while for a fully functional one. stabbykitteh
Would you like to see this as an option in future TES games? Agree that co-op would probably be fun for a bit, but no. Bethesda Game Studios are one of the few AAA single player developers left, and the tradeoff for a co-op feature would probably be the end of modding for TES. Besides, there will be Zenimax's TES Online for those who wish to see Tamriel with friends....
slzy
Well to be clear here, co-op in Skyrim is nothing like an mmo and especially nothing like TES Online which is just another WOW clone. I have no interest in mmos .. I don't play WOW etc. But having a buddy co-op with me in Skyrim would be awesome and honestly, I can't see how it would effect modding? What do you forsee there? My ideal scenario is just being able to connect to a buddies game and co-op with him. Just the two of us. I would not expect more than that, or really want it. Edited September 6, 2012 by slzy
ginnyfizz
No, no and a thousand times no. If I want to play with my friends, I choose an MMO.
slzy
That doesn't make sense to me ginnyfizz, if I want to play Skyrim with my friend, I should go play WOW? I don't see how mmo's have anything to do with co-op play in Skyrim. Honestly its a very different proposition!

I could see major concessions being necessary to get co-op to run smoothly, though, if that's even really possible with this engine. MP mods are one thing, but to get it going for mass consumption it's my guess (and that's all it is) that serious streamlining would be required. Since the PC modding community are already a minority seems likely that would be the first to go. People like to rag on Bethesda, but the Creation Kit and making the games mod friendly take time and effort on their part, effort they would then likely be spending getting their buggy co-op to work :) So, yeah, pretty much what ginnyfizz said. Noooooooooooooooooooooooo.
ginnyfizz
Yeah, if you want to play with a friend, play WoW or GW2 like I do when I want company in game. Like flummox I object to making everything multiplayer, TES is one of the last AAA single player RPG series standing. What you want slzy would be the end of modding so  with Skyrim co-op. Javalin
The only way I can see it being REMOTELY possible with keeping the modding community intact.. Is Offline Multiplayer; I.E. Split Screen. or multi screen.
