vmh1029
BEFORE YOU RESPOND, PLEASE READ THIS THROUGHLY I'll keep it short. As of right now, I have 6 characters (a necromancer mage, a sneaky assasin, a druid healer, a warrior, a vampire and a ilussion mage) that I use in Skyrim, but I get frustrtated that I have to be constantly be removing or merging esps because of the dumb 253 mod limit, but I had an idea. Since my characters vary a lot, there are many mods that are only used by certain characters (for example one character I have is a necromancer, and I have a lot of necromancer related mods. But, those are usesless for my barbarian warrior or my druid healer character since they are not into that and I never use those mods in-game when I am playing with them, so those ESP's just take unnecesary space) So to make a better use of my load order and ESP limit, what I want to try is through Mod Organizer make unique profiles for each of my characters so each profile has mods dedicated only to each of the character's needs. (Obviously all of this profiles are just going to be copies of one another but with certain variations). So for example in my warrior character I would just delete mage/necromancer themed mods so I can free up space. HERE'S THE PROBLEM: Right now, all my characters have mods that I want to get rid of, but some of them are heavy scripted mods and I fear that I may ruin the save game if I attempt to delete them. IMPORTANT NOTE: Since I'm deleting the mods in the characters profiles that I never used in those save-games, this heavy scrpited quest mods aren't started or advanced in any way, or interacted with in the specifice character save games. As maximum, they appear as quests in my journal, but nothing else. this are the mods I worry about: - Undeath (Including Classical and Immersive Patches)https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40607/? - Vigilanthttps://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/67103 - Wrath of Naturehttps://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31485 - Better Dark Brotherhoodhttps://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25941 The Gray Cowl of Nocturnalhttps://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64651 MY #1 QUESTION IS: Is my idea safe to do? Do you think it's a good idea I divide my characters this way? MY #2 QUESTION IS: If I delete those mods, (and obviously use save-game script cleaner), will it work, considering that I haven't used or started this mods yet? THANK YOU SO MUCH! <
ButtonSmasher
Deleting mods mid-through gameplay is a bad idea. What could happen if you delete mods that are on a savefileWell, plain said it will crash on launch or it will crash when you come into that area.I had an edited Windhelm bridge which made it cooler, but it bugged out with my carriage mod. I deleted the bridge mod, but everytime i came close to that bridge i crashed, because it was missing files. What you could do is make profiles in your Mod manager and start those up everytime you switch your character. So as example:I like this sword for my Warrior, but my mage in my other world doesn't need it*CLOSE GAME*Select Profile for mage (That has the Sword mod disabled, NOT Uninstalled, but Disabled)*START GAME*Game starts up without that mod.
