I had no problems with Dawnguard at level 45 with all guild quests completed except the Dark Brotherhood quests. I played the Vampire Hunter Side. I am now playing Dawnguard again but this time started a new game with a new character and started it at the beginning. I am playing a Vampire this time. No problems yet. Dawnguard is DLC content once you install it every time you start a new vanilla Skyrim game Dawnguard is part of it. When I said I started a new game I started Dawnguard early in the entire Skyrim line of quests. You don't have to wait until you have completed all the other quests to start Dawnguard.
