How Do You Merge esp Files?

Question #1:

 

I'm working on a large mod that is designed to make edits in many areas and extensively in those areas. For compatibility reasons I would prefer to make some parts in separate modules, but I am editing so many areas that I would have 12 different esp files in my own game (since I would be using them all). Is there a way to merge all these esp files into a single esp file? If anyone has a link to a tutorial on this I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

 

 

Question #2:

 

Not as important, but still bugging me. How do you edit Pipboy Images? Specifically perk images. I can't open the files right now so I am guessing I need another program to edit them?

You have to be careful merging files sometimes, depends what they do but the best one at least IMO is FNV plugin.

What sort of thing should I be careful about?

 

Should I be good as long as I am making no visual edits and no changes in cells? The whole mod should be gameplay tweaks and edits to base effects, abilities, perks, consumables, factions, etc. with very little scripting and primarily new data entries. And I won't be merging any conflicting files since I will be writing them all.
