Loumbas
I have a few quests that I cant finish or close: (1) I have killed Eno after he challenged me and I am now Grandmaster of Morant Tong. But the quest for Grandmaster is still open. What is wrong with this? Does it have anything to do with the four writs that you are supposed to do after you are grandmaster or is it a bug? (2) I am suppose to have this momument build for this god Boethiah (talking head under the sea). I did all that I was supposed to do for having this guy monument built and I read somewhere its supposed to take 45 days except its been 60 odd days now and nothing happens. I went to the statue in the bottom of the sea again but the head doesnt talk any more. So is the thing finished? How would I know it when it does? Do I have to go find it? (3) I have two open quests in the journal which I am sure I did but I cant get them closed: Maestrius the lonely vampire whos ass I nailed because he attacked me but the journal still shows it open. Also the quest by Sjoring of FG who wanted me to kill the master thief but I killed him instead. Is there any way to get them closed using the console (just for psychological purposes)?
Drake_Of_Valendell
K, Lets go from 1... #1 - As grandmaster, you must complete the writs... as you thought. Then talk to the same person (the questgiver, or w/e) and you are done, I believe. #2 - You must find the monument, and speak to it. Thus, obtaining the legendary Katana Goldbrand... You can, upgrade it to Eltonbrand, but I didn't bother,... (big sports fan, so I keep thinking of the clippers when I see it *shudders*) #3 - I really have no clue, although I am just beginning Jim Stacey's quests,... Bal Molagmer and Thieves Guild. If I figure it out, Ill fill you in. As for the vampire thing, I've not been blessed with the time and energy to "unleash the beast within." I have neither been Vampire, or Werewolf, so im out for #3 here too,... sry I couldn't be more of a help.
Darkh Templar
#2: You need to talk to the statue, go to the Orc sculptor in Caldera, and after the neccessary number of days you need to go to Khartag Point (Near Gnaar Mok, IIRC) and talk to the statue. You recieve Goldbrand.
Dagger of Symachus
The Maestrius quest will remain open unless you turned down the quest (thus stopping you from getting SpellBreaker though). I think the only reason the final Fighters Guild quest would remain open is if you didn't kill Gentleman Jim Stacey and just killed Sjoring. Malchik
See my pinned thread in spoilers for all quests that are known to remain open when you have done them. Any quest will remain open if you kill the person you are supposed to report to. Had you killed GJS and reported to Sjoring he would have attacked you forcing you to kill him but it would have given you the necessary journal entry. After all by not killing GJS you have not completed the quest. How therefore can you expect a journal entry saying you have? There is a way to remove the whole quest from the journal (search, I believe the poster's name is Pierre Beauregarde). IIRC you cannot simply use a console command to make it show as completed. Loumbas
Thanks all for the feedback. Just some clarifications if you can: With respect to Morang Tong I dont have open quests for writs in my journal nor does Eno have them in the dialogues. I just found from the construction set that four more writs exist for names such as Bero, Belandas etc. Then someone in another forum said you were supposed to be able to use them for quests AFTER being grandmaster but there is some bug in the game and maybe you dont get them. Just curious if anyone knows more about it. I did the Boethiah quest (thanks) though I am not sure how to upgrade the Goldbrand. Any tips? As far as the other two entries the explanations are quite clear but its too late for me to back up on them so I would just like the console command to close them since I have basically done them. :help:
Malchik
Grey writsThe grey writs should appear if you talk to a Morag Tong leader anywhere and ask about one of the four names. If the names are not in their dialogue box (and I've found both situations) use the console addtopic command when their dialogue is open. Any one of the four names should give you all four writs. Whether the names appear automatically may depend upon getting a reference to the grey writs in one of the 'latest rumour' queries (or Morrowind Lore I can't remember). EltonbrandSearch the forum for 'Eltonbrand' to find how to upgrade the sword Goldbrand. You can only do it while playing as a vampire so it may be something for a new game. And you will need the full explanation of how it works. No 'hint' is possible for this one. Open questsI do not think you can close the open quests you refer to by console (but others may know differently). To remove the quests from your diary check the spoilers posts of Pierre Beauregard (not sure if he has an e at the end or not) and you will find out how to do it. Dagger of Symachus
I thought that the cause of the grey writs glitch of not appearing was that you could not become Grandmaster of the Morag Tong after destroying Dagoth Ur and they wouldn't appear. But it could be that it comes from latest rumors since I remember in the Morrowind Prophecies that the writes come due to the "Recent Troubles" after the defeat of Dagoth Ur. So it could come from the latest rumors as well.
Loumbas
I tried talking to Moranf Tong leaders (if these are the ones in the basement of Arena where Eno was) but couldnt get a single quest. Are you referring to other leaders (like scattered around)?
Malchik
Not them. The ones who give you writs in Sadrith Mora (immediately inside the door), Balmora (at the top of the stairs) and Ald Ruhn (at the back of the first room IIRC). Can't recall their names I'm afraid. Any one of the three will do. If the quests don't come up automatically open the dialogue box and then the console and type - addtopic"Larrius Varro". Then close both console and dialogue box. When you re-open the dialogue you will have all four names; Mistress Therana, Dram Bero and Baladas as well as Varro. Good slaying.
