SOS101
for some reason new hairstyles are not showing up. I used the compiler to merge them into one big one. New hair, eyes, skintones do not want to show up in character creation. Only presets and thats some of them. I couldn't get the warden preset to be in presets. Can someone explain to me what I am doing wrong. I put in the xml file like it says. But it doesn't seem to work for some reason....
kjuice
I will add that my downloaded mods for hair and vibrand colours do not show up iether. I have extracted them directly into the over ride file, but when starting a new game, it still has original coices. Thandal
@kjuice and @SOS101; Do you understand about the "chargenmorphcfg.xml" file and the need to edit it appropriately to account for any and all appearance mods you're trying to use? If you only have one, the author probably included it with the mod. If you have more than one, you'll need to edit it (or use TerraEx's excellent "CharGenMorph Complier") to integrate all the changes into a single file, which is all the game can recognize. Codifer
I have also encountered problems when using the chargenmorph compiler. I do believe that I had done the appropriate set up before running the compiler but the result was chaos. Not only did I not see the new hairstyles (I believe it was "Anto's" that I was attempting) but, in that process I did lose "CC's Tints and Tones" and "Tucked Hair". I had previously employed the compiler with some success so I was puzzled by the outcome of the second attempt. Luckily, I did have a backup chargenxml that I could re-insert and it did restore the original configuration. Perhaps I will eventually make another attempt by starting "clean" and, after inserting into the override all of the requisite mod files (and there are many that I would like to have) I would only then run the chargen compiler. In reading the descriptions in many of the hair and cosmetic mods I become confused because I cannot tell if the mod adds new styles or replaces existing styles. I have noted, when looking at the individual xml files, that some are numbered and I do not know if (should I ever attempt a manual edit of the xml) what numbers, if any, I should use for the individual styles to show in the character creator. So much to learn.
Thandal
I'm currently running with: CC Extra Tints and TonesMore HairstylesTucked HairandPT's Vibrant Colours At various times I've also employed other hairstyle, eye, eyelash, and skin mods. I always work the same way. 0. Keep original copy of mod (usually a .zip or .rar file) in a separate folder. 1. If adding a "never before seen" mod, just unzip into own folder under "\override", and run the Compiler using the "Rescan for .xml files" button. 2. If removing a mod, just delete that folder under "\override". 3. If adding back a previously deleted mod, it gets more complicated:a. Back a back-up of current chargenmorphcfg.xml (just in case.)b. Unzip the the .xml files for each mod currently in use and place in appropriate subfolder.c. Re-run Compiler using the "Rescan for .xml files" button. This has worked over many, many months of adding and deleting all kinds of CC mods.
