Vagrant0
Hello, on the Oblivion Construction Set im trying to create a new land (heightmap) but when im on it i only see black no blue water or anything just black, i cant even see what im doing on it either, i follwed the tutorial. http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index...g_the_landscape on there it shows you a printscreen of it and its blue water, mines black and i cant see the land im creating can anyone tell me what is wrong ?There are two things which can cause this. Either the heightmap editor is just failing to initialize, or the color key it's using has black as the default height. The first thing you should try is raising the ground in some area to see if there is a change in color. If there isn't, try loading an existing worldspace, like Tamriel (do NOT save) to see if anything shows then. If not, it may be your videocard or some internal problem within the heightmap editor. If this is the case, do not be disheartened, you do not need the heightmap editor to make worldspaces, it just makes large worldspaces easier to lay out. In most cases, you are best off just doing all the terrain work manually using the landscape editor. Within the options, same tab as grid snap settings, there is an option for landscape sensitivity, you can raise or lower this to make it easier to raise large pieces of land, or do finer details. Using the landscape editor also allows you to have a bit better sense of how large things like hills are compared to structures. No matter what, much of your work with a landscape will need to be done within the landscaping tool, this is because the heightmap, while good for large areas, cannot really be used to create fine details. If it is just a color issue, you can adjust the settings within the heightmap editor. I've personally found these settings to be best for normal usage.http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/4796/heightmapsettingsaa4.jpg It may be just an issue of monitor brightness. Dark blue can often be hard to distinguish from black.
