I was wondering if its possible to give your Dovahkiin an actual Voice. Unfortunately for me my created character looks a little life less to be honest.

Like in Dragon Age 2 where our created characters could actually speak and interact with others around them.

Or like in Mass Effect series where we had some amazing free flowing character to character interactions.

Seeing another NPC standing Idle and just talking seems a little boring. If its possible to create a mod which gives a standard Male and Female Vocals along with smooth flowing animation while characters are engaged in chatting would be great in my opinion.

I'm sure it's possible, but it'd be a massive undertaking if you wanted a mod that supported voice acting even for one gender of one race for only the Main quest. Not to mention adding the animations for talking. Then multiply the work for just the voice acting by 20, then the work to make sure the Imperials aren't using the argonian voice. Seems like it'd be more trouble than it's worth...

Agree! but it would make things so much cooler, Lively and exciting. It would be amazing if your character can actually taunt and yell and show some emotions during battle (instead of just plain old ha, hu, ya). The only thing in my opinion Bethesda games are lacking. Would have been great if they can do what BioWare did give more life to their game characters. Edited by ouzair

I rarely defend Beth these days, but you have to give them credit for trying to add personality and even cutscenes (albeit rarely) to their characters. If you play through the various TES games, you'll find that, with a few exceptions, the NPCs have become more distinct and unique from game to game. Oblivion was a bit of an exception, but that can be attributed to the transition from text-based dialogue to voiced dialogue - time, financial, and memory-related constraints limited what could be achieved.

You're not likely to ever find characters as complex or cutscenes as cinematic as in a Bioware title, however - at least not in vanilla. The reason comes down to the number of NPCs involved, and the wide variety of situations the player can encounter them in. Cutscenes in games like DA are scripted to happen in a certain location, at a certain time, with a limited number of characters present, whereas open-world games have far more variables to take into consideration. To put it simply, DA and ME are storytelling games, while Skyrim and its counterparts are storybuilding games.

That being said, look into companion mods, like ESF Aela, Ceridwen, Fair Khajiit, the upcoming Skyrim Vilja, and of course my own Atvir Dres: The Last Prince of Tear, all of which revolve around complex companions in the style of Bioware followers.

AWESOME mods, thanks for sharing. Can you make one for Serena (from dawnguarrd).

I know that it can be hard with all the open world environment and huge number of NPC's but if they only concentrate on the cutscenes in the basic story line that would be enough imo. No need to make so many dialogue options just stick to the point and compact things into cutscenes, I love every single TES games and if Bethesda include this feature that would be epic. At least their new game "Dishonored" seems to have some decent amount of cutscenes.

There is a mod called More Additional Player Voices, but it only gives a vanilla voice of your choosing to your character during events like sneaking, drawing a weapon, finding a new area and so on. Personally, I'd like to see a mod that adds cutscenes similar to those of The Witcher 2. And yes, it would be a sizeable undertaking, but they've made hundreds of mods that add prostitution and bigger boobs and even more that remove womens' clothing and body proportions. Why can't they put their time and effort to good use and make it so the character is no longer mute? Also, there's a mod called Khajiit Speak that overhauls the ENTIRE BODY of Skyrim dialogue to fit more of a Khajiit style of speaking (a.k.a, "I would like to trade with you" is "Khajiit would like to trade with you" and your character's name is very often 'said' throughout the dialogue). If they managed to overhaul every single sentence on paper- or a computer screen- why can't someone else just say what's already there? Yes, you'd need several voice actors, but only as many as there are races. If I knew anything about scripting and if I didn't have a voice like Braith's, I'd like to do it.

And the animations thing, the biggest thing would to be to make the moth move in sync to your words. Not everyone talks with their hands, so why can't the Dragonborn be one of them?

But this subject highly intrigues me. Sorry for the thirty years I made you take reading this. :)
