Shamalama
I bought Skyrim the day it appeared. Over these many months I've downloaded several mods, added textures, etc. So I took the summer off, didn't play, and now want to "start again". How can I convert Skyrim back to its original, virginal state, like the day I first downloaded it?
hangarspace
If that is really what you want to do then at the riskof breaking your existing save games, simply delete the skyrim folder and let Steam re-download it all again. Tho you might need to un-subcribe from any mods that you installed using Steam. Of course, it might also be a good idea to backup your existing skyrim folder first just in case it all goes wrong! Shamalama
Thanks hangarspace. I have no desire to keep any old games, rather a complete re-fresh/re-start. Just want to make sure Steam doesn't make me pay again.
stabbykitteh
Make sure you also delete Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini from your My Document / My Games / Skyrim folder.
ginnyfizz
Thanks hangarspace. I have no desire to keep any old games, rather a complete re-fresh/re-start. Just want to make sure Steam doesn't make me pay again. It won't, but it might be a little obnoxious about letting you redownload your game, it was with me and it took a couple of days to sort it out. If it happens to you, try changing your download region, and you might also need to set new firewall rules and configure ports, check out this;- Required ports for Steam I had to do all of this before it would let me get Skyrim back again. Staind716
And if you ever need to start fresh again and don't want to go through the whole uninstall and reinstall process, this guide will show you how. http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Skyrim_Installation#tab=Skyrim
devilrejected
I recommend you get Nexus Mod Manager, So when you re-install Skyrim you can install mods through it and when your sick of them they'll uninstall cleanly and you don't have to worry about individual files.
