meteora888
I'm trying to edit an armor with Blender. I use Blender 2.49 with Blender NIF Scripts 2.5.8 for import/export. I followed every steps of this tutorial, but I get stuck when trying to export my edited armor from Blender. There are not any BSDismemberSkinInstance nodes. They are indeed essential; when I tried to bypass this step, I got an invisible armor. I tried to copy them in NifSkope from the vanilla mesh I used as a base for my armor (the female iron armor mesh), but it didn't work. Creating a new node won't help either, since you need assigned vertice and weights with it. I also tried to follow parts of this tutorial and guess what? Nothing changed. I saw other people complaining about similar issues both on this forum and in other ones, and no one got a good answer. Since there are actually people who create mods with custom meshes, there MUST be a way! Edit: just in case it may help, what I am trying to do exactly is a fusion of the iron armor and studded armor. In Blender it looks like this: Edited September 10, 2012 by meteora888
meteora888
Hahahahah lol I just found what the hell was going on: I just forgot to select the armor parts before importing the skeleton... so basically, the skeleton had no parent partition. Since the partitions weren't used by anything in the file, they were scrapped on export! I guess this is what happen to everyone who experience missing BSDismemberSkinPartition nodes. It took me a few times re-doing all the steps before I figured it, so I'll spread the word!
