myewggs
soo guys, today i started a small overhaul of the chainmail parts of the armors in Skyrim, exchanging them for better chainmail textures (from the Witcher 2 models), but when i was doing the Imperial Studded armor and have tested it in-game, the "black color" in the texture are all transparent, i tried to change all the black to another color but it wasn't as cool as the black color, so my question is, is there a way to select another color to became transparent and not the black color? (preferably an easy way because i don't know how to use any other thing beyond photoshop ) Thanks! and sorry for my english :D Image of the problem: http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/4044/screenshot6qq.png Edited September 12, 2012 by myewggs
MTichenor
When you turn an object transparent via the texture, it will show the next object behind it. Since armor usually doesn't have skin under it, it will show the object on the other side of the character (such as a wall, sky, ground, etc). It won't even show the other side of the same object (even if back-face culling is disabled). What you need to do is create a mesh for the body, then apply the mesh for the armor over the top of it, so that there is something underneath the armor mesh to display. Alternatively, don't use transparency and just change the color of the areas that would be transparent...like any other texture.
