Custom Races and Dawngaurd Vampire Quest

Just came back from a short break away from Skyrim and I find a few people complaining that my custom race does not work properly in a Dawngaurd vampire quest.

 

To quote a user "i did dawnguard quest and i accepted the vampire gift but when i go out of the door all come and attack me." I haven't actually played Dawngaurd yet, nor do I ever bother with vampirism, so I really don't know exactly what the issue is. If anyone could shed any light on this it would be greatly appreciated.

 

I noticed the Ashen Race has a Dawngaurd fix posted, so I'm assuming someone has already solved the problem.

People are trying to find a fix for this, but Bethesda hasn't released the necessary script sources yet. :(

I've been consistently recommending my users not to play Dawnguard content with my race, period. But some seem to have good results using the workaround to manually changing to vampire through the console before accepting the vampire lord state. I tested it briefly and it seemed to work.

I've essentially given up trying to make my custom race mod compatible with Dawnguard, basically because every custom race mod is going to make the same script changes rendering them all incompatible with another. So rather than work on something now only to have it inevitably rendered pointless, I'm recommending people stay Vanilla when they want to go through Dawnguard.

 

I may make the scripts one day but like I said, so is everybody else. Not sure what anyone will do except hope theirs comes out on top.
