oblivion game of the year, I'm thinking of buying it

Right now I'm playing skyrim and dawnguard, but I've heard a lot of talk about oblivion, is it any good or just as good? are the characters about the same size on screen like in Skyrim, I don't like when the character is tiny on screen like in god of war 2

Are there any youtube videos longer then the official trailer to give me a ideal of what to expect, maybe a Machinima video showing a dramatic battle, they posted a awesome 12 minute dawnguard final battle scene video on the skyrim boards a few weeks ago

Is the on screen menu awkward and something like SkyUI mod may be needed to make it PC friendly

And my final question and it's important, does oblivion work with the Xbox controller for Windows USB cord one? I never use the keyboard to play video games

Here's one thing and one thing only you need to know: Mods Mods Mods

Oblivion has a fantastic library of them, and the quest mods that people have made are amazing.

There are even 2 overhauls (changes the game completely, basically a different game using the Oblivion engine) Nehrim and another.

I've played over 600+ hours, and personally, as much as I love Skyrim, I preferred Oblivion.

Here: I have 2 videos on Oblivion: youtube.com/AcheNone

There the ones with Hentai Mania (a dungeon overhaul)

As for can you use a Xbox controller, I am sure you can, but Mouse and Keyboard is definitely a better way to go, as you can do a lot more you otherwise can't (with mods)

I have bad eye sight and big fingers and I've used joysticks going back to the first nintendo, atari and saga genesis gaming console and then when I started playing PC games I used either the xbox for windows controller or the logitech PS3 game controller for windows!..

I'm in my forty's and old habits are hard to break

I'm also a gamer from the Atari/NES days.

I think Oblivion is a wonderful game. It's a sandbox game where you can play the storyline if you like or just run around like a maniac if you would like. There are some obvious shortcomings with the game. The biggest ones is that in a game this large, it's just impossible to work out all of the bugs. So if you're trying to jump over some mountains, it's possible to get stuck, or maybe fall off a ledge that isn't supposed to be there. Another issue is that there game voices are rather limited.

But these are minor issues. I've had great fun going into random caves, killing bandits and undead, collecting things, buying houses and all that. I've never beaten the game due to two seperate complete computer failures (power supply going bad, kid spilling water into laptop) so I've been using cheats to help get me where I was, but I still have fun completing the quests I've already finished for the second or third time.

So I recommend the game. I wont use mods until I finish it the first time, but from what I've seen, there's a lot that I'd like to try.
