Safely Replacing Doors

So I've been doing mod conflict patches for a while now, mostly towns villages for personal use. I've gotten really good at the landscaping part of it and have released a few patches recently even. The problem is you usually have to relocate buildings, which means the potential for "floating" doors. So far I've just been instructing people to not use the patch with a previous save game that had the mods in question installed.

 

My question is: How do I safely replace a door so that it won't show up just "floating" in it's former location.

 

I know the bigger mods like Better Cities have techniques for doing this. Any suggestions?

Yeah ...I've read about the subject somewhere before. But then...and doesn't this always happen...couldn't find the article again to use the information. Hoping someone who knows the answer will take pity on my plight and point me in the right direction.

You may want to talk to either Arthmoor, Vorians or Ismelda, since they do this a lot with Open Cities and Better Cities.

 

I don't think there are any good solutions, other than clean saves.

Yeah...don't know why I didn't do that in the first place. I'm on pretty good terms with Arthmoor and Vorians. I'll send them both a PM.
