Help needed: Vanishing Frostcrag Architecture

I'm brand new at modding, so please bear with me.

I've run into a snag in trying to add some display cases and additional lighting to Frostcrag spire's main level area. Seeing as this is a personal mod, I've been editing a backed up copy of the original esp. I added the cases and lighting in the CS, but when I loaded the game, I saw that almost all of Frostcrag's exterior architecture is gone. All that remains is the door, the guild portals midway up, and the spinning doodads, all floating in midair. I can enter the door and all my changes show up perfectly.

I don't want to overhaul Frostcrag. I just want some space to display all the unique items I'm picking up. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Well unloading the plugin, clean saving, and reloading fixed the vanishing architecture issue. Of course, that means repurchasing all of the upgrades. Now I'd like to make my display case additions part of the library upgrade, but I don't know how to go about it.

Can any one illuminate me on how the house upgrades system works? Is it possible to modify them to add new objects?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry I don't know how the house upgrade system works.

I'm not a very advanced user of the CS but what you are trying sounds fine to me, one thing you could try is copy your frostcrag.esp and rename it to something like Frostcrag Edited.esp. Edit the new Frostcrag Edited.esp file and have both active in your load order, set the edited one to load after the original (hmm or mabye try it the other way around... like I said I don't know how the house upgrade system works). The game should alow you to purcahse the upgrades with the original DLCFrostcrag.esp and then should add your changes. I'm just not sure if the "Edited Frostcrag.esp" file will overwrite the upgrades next time you load your game if it is after the original file....hmmmm.

(Just a thought)

Personally I REALLY like the mod: Frostcrag Reborn

(Note: I did have problems with this mod with the exterior of the tower looking all messed up, to fix it I ran TES4LODGen then copied the distant LOD folder from the mod into my "...\Oblivion\Data\" directory.)

Good luck & happy modding.
