vratsbane
Hello, I have been playing Oblivion for a while and have noticed that when it starts to rain, it only lasts a very short while, and I'd just like to know if there is a mod that makes it last longer when it starts. I love rain, but I don't want it to always be on, I just want it to last longer, because I've found mods that make it rain constantly. Any ideas?

Any ideas? :confused:Weather frequency is controlled by region volitility and by time. The first part can't really be effectivly changed, but the time part can. Basically, time in Oblivion is by default a 30/1 scale. Meaning that for every minute that passes for you at the keyboard, 30 minutes pass in game. So really, that rainstrom that lasts 10 minutes lasts 5 hours in game. So by changing this from a 30/1 scale to something more like 10/1 weather and days will last 3 times longer, or rather pass 3 times slower. This can be done just by opening console and typing in "set timescale to 10", or whatever. This will also end up making it so that the day/night cycle and the passage of days is also longer, but that's kinda a good thing since you get to enjoy more daylight, or night as well as rain. However, it should be noted that two quests can become bugged because of changing the timescale. There is a fix for this, and a 15/1 timescale setting here:http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5859 You can of course change the timescale to whatever you want afterward, the script changes were meant to work with any timescale setting. I personally use a 1/1 or 5/1 timescale setting when I play, it jut gives you more time to notice some of the short duration things that some NPCs do every day, or every week.
