Companions?

In Oblivion you can get companions through mods - most companion mods give one companion. But several give more, and some mods will allow recruiting many - even nearly any NPC in the game.

My favorite female companions have been

Viljia, she is funny, has a quest, optional possible romance, many off the wall comments. ("Does this armor make me look fat?") Some of the dialog was actually written by Sir Terry Pratchett (diskworld author) http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/28977

Neeshka -can heal, recharge magic & other stuff as well as fight. http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/10193

Rhianna, good all round companion with custom voice & a mind of her own http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/15841

To allow changing any NPC clothing and equipment (including companions) , Muffinshare http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/7119

Finally - CM Partners - a partner system that allows creating partners from one to many - there are probably already a hundred available as mods - all races , all types, and you are given instructions for creating your own partners. http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/7819

Depends on the companion you want. There are mods that let you make any NPC a follower to specific companion mods.

The absolute best one is Vilja (http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/28977) followed by Saerileth (http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/16251) - at least in my opinion (I use both). There is also the mod Blade Song (http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/32426) which is very good, but overlooked, with Tess. Installation is pretty simple for these mods as well, just follow the installation instructions.

There are others and a search under "companions other" or "companions cm based" will get you lots to choose from.

As for armor, Morrigan's (http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/16401) is probably the most feminine full armor I know of, but any female companion needs to go shopping so the Apachii Goddess Store (http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/13437)is a great mod for a female companion. For some more great clothes and armor (http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/15617).

Well, Thanks for the help! I have D/Ld all you suggested now, but where do I find this girl ? I think usually they appear somewhere you are, but never had a companion before.

Once you install the mod, when you start the game you should get a message in your game journal after a short while telling you to look for Vilja at the Bloated Float in the IC, Saerileth at the Bruma Chapel or Tess at her store in Aleswell.

And yes, the spoiler is Simonides's epigram on the monument to the Spartans at Thermopylae.
