Okay, I'm in need of some help.

I've re-installed Black and White (Lionhead Studios/EA Games), and it won't work. After the initial loading screen, the game just sort of stops running without any error messages etctera. I know it has run on my computer before, so I'm completely lost.

Any one have any ideas?

I had a similar problem a while back and here is what I did:

Fully uninstalled the game **this includes removing any folders left behind after the uninstall, deleting any and all saved games, and manually editing the Windows Registry (a daunting task) to remove all references for it.

Check your video card drivers and sound drivers for WHQL certification. Certification does not really guarantee compatibility, but it helps. On the other hand, just because a driver is not WHQL'd does not mean it will not work right. This rule of thumb generally works best for "name brand" cards using chips from Creative Labs, nVidia, ATI, or Intel. The easiest way to do this is the DirectX diagnostic utility. Go to <Start>, then <Run>, then type in dxdiag .

Then I fully installed the game, but downloaded and installed the patches before I began to play.

For some reason, although I do not know why, the game seemed to run better on my old system (dual P3 @ 1GHz, geForce 4 TI4600, 1GB PC133 SDRRAM) than it does on my new system (dual Zeon @ 3.06GHz, ATI Radeon 9800XT, 2GB PC1066 RDRAM). It might be that it just runs better on older hardware, or dome other incompatibility with my system.

Try using patch 1.2 instead of 1.3. The reason I say that is for some reason, if I patch to 1.3, this exact problem occurs, but if I uninstall and reinstall and only patch to 1.2, it works fine and dandy. As far as I can tell, all 1.3 does is enable you to use the P5 glove thingamahoojer.
