LucasGMF
Hello to you all. I've had some experiences with Merge Plugins recently and things were working pretty well. Then I decided to reinstall the game and make another playthrough, focusing more on immersion mods and stuff, since I thought, hey, plugin limit is not an issue anymore. Wrong. Things went terribly wrong, I'm experiencing a lot of issues. I'll list some here so you guys have an idea. ° A Matter of Time causes crashes whenever I accesss it's MCM configurations, and this happens when there is different mods enabled. -- I'll try disable everything but it whenever I have free time, and make the changes I want and see if things will work. ° My merges, which were working one time, and suddenly, they stopped working at all. However, there were some times when I could only get to the character creation screen before getting CTDs, or get past the character creation screen AND THEN get CTDs, or when trying to go outdoor, and lastly, get random CTDs after some minutes. ° There where even a time where my main mods and combat mods, combined with my graphic and visual stuff made crashes. -- But that is aparently fixed, as I sorted out the load order with LOOT ° My merged armors/weapons are causing CTDs. This never happened before, I'm scared._____________________________________ These are the issues I'm having, and I'm like, 90% sure I'm doing something wrong, I have lots of suspicions, but I don't really know if any of them is sure, since when I try to smash down the issue, a new one just pops up. My main suspicions are ° There are too many scripts loading at the same time, which causes CTD. When I start a new game, I got like 70+ MCM menus, altough I've seen people with more and running a stable game. -- I'm planning to try to enable tiny parts of it, one at a time, and see if things will work out. But before that, I have to fix the merges, since they're essential. ° There's some conflict ish stuff going on the priority table (I use MO2) ° There's some conflict ish stuff going on the load order ° There's some conflict ish stuff going on the merged mods which I'm making ° I'm merging mods way too heavy scripted -- That's probably an issue, I'm gonna check it later, but I'm still trying to solve the A Matter of Time issue ° I'm running up too many texture mods. - Maybe, dunno ° I'm having some weird s#*! regarding access elevation whenever I run MO2. I don't know what is this, never had it. My guess, it shoud've started when I decided to make another playthrough and forgot to delete the old skyrim, and so, I had made two instances on MO2 by accident. ° My crash dumps also metion some stuff like access elevation, but instead it's access violation. Googled it, didn't get a straight answer, some people say it's driver, mine is updated. Some say it's Windows, possibly, in short words, I'm suspicious. ______________________________________ For some help, I'll list here some valuable info about the programs I'm using, system specs and that stuff Game --- Skyrim SE v.1.5.80, steam verseion. It's also running on SSD. SKSE64 --- 2.00.16 Mod manager --- Mod Organizer 2 v2.2.0(final). It's running on SSD Mods --- They're not stored on the SSD, I don't have enough space. System specs: WINDOWS 10 64bit 12GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB AMD FX(tm)-4300 Quad-Core Processor _______________________________________A thought Lastly, I'd like to ask you people if there is another way to increase the plugin load order by some creative means. I'm already aware of the Wrye Bash tool and the ESLification, but neither seems to work for me, since my load order doesn't have much plugins that can become a Bashed Patch, or do I have enough mods that can be ESLified to make a difference. Oh, and the ESLified esps are not being saved, another headache. I humbly, truly, request your knowledge regarding this. On the final case, I'll just send all my time right toward the thrash and rebuild it all again _____________________________________ I believe that's all folks. I humbly and desperately ask for y'all good people's wisdom. Old me has been trying to set up Skyrim for almost a month right now. I'm on vacation, and it will soon ends, and probably I won't have as much time to sit here and set my brain in fire to figure out what's the crux of this issue, or that one. I'm sorry for the long post, I'm just a crazy foolish modder who wants to play a heavily modded Skyrim, and lacks the experience to do so. Appreciate all your time, thank you all. _______________________________________ Modlist below. No load order though, I don't have a stable one, and I'm still testing it. https://modwat.ch/u/Shire/modlist Here are some notes about it: What has "_MERGED_" in its name, its merged, and not actually active. I just activated to show everything. The armors and weapons activated where the lot I couldn't merge. The same goes for some "[IMMERSION]" and "[OVERHAUL]" mods, but not all of them. I don't use both the TBD body and CBBE body.________________________________ I believe that's all folks. I humbly and desperately ask for y'all good people's wisdom. anjenthedog
Afaik it's "[" spoiler "]" your text "[" /spoiler "]" minus the quotations My system sounds similar, except for one difference. I have far more ram. (maxed out at 64G) Same video (1060 6G), same OS (W10) also running on SD (500G fwiw). I'm sorry I can't speak to your mod list. or to MO2. I use Vortex exclusively and am running somewhere around 220-230 mods. Well... I can say this. I keep seeing complaints about Skyrim not working... from people who use MO(2) as if they were still on oldrim where that is/was apparently the norm I had problems early on, (I'm a pretty new player and not really a "gamer") but most of those appear to have been due to a few accidental installs of oldrim mods, along with intrusive garbage like OSA/OSex, which has since been removed due to its virus-like behaviors. While I was getting CTDs every 5-10 minutes before, the 1.5.80 update really caused me to reexamine my installation and purge a few unnecessary mods, and update about two dozen others due to game/skse version specific requirements, since my at the time level 52 player became unplayable and even after pissing with Fallrim and other edits for nearly a week trying to recover her, was still unplayable. I finally gave in and created a new character (male, now level 32) and all was well. Apparently there's some uniqueness to a given playthroughs' particulars, (my old character got attacked heavily by both dragons and vampires early on, the male had a different set of initial adversaries and has taken a different arc as a result...I have a hard time finding dragons for instance, even though his dragon born arc is progressing faster...weird, while she gets attacked frequently), so I got bored one weekend and tediously went through my original saves until I found a level 16 save of the original character that was/is bug free and all is well with her (now level 36). Some things just don't work. Many of the old HTD-physics armors aren't working or are only partially working, (since that's a dead engine under 1.5.80 and according to the author there are no plans whatsoever to provide an updated version of the engine HTD-SMP is apparently the new thing) so I've discarded those that don't work. I also pitched opparco due to weird crap it was causing in the facial animations and couple of other things that are apparently never going to get updated for 1.5.80/2.0.16 In any case, both of my present characters are pretty darned reliable (knock on wood) and each has experienced less than 5 CTDs to date. Best of luck sorting out your problems. Sorry I can't offer any more.
LucasGMF
I do know that Mod organizer is outdated, but I simply cannot think another mod manager that suits me better. Regarding the update, it is indeed possible that I have some mods that were only working on the previous version of the game, albeit I do not know. However, I had update all plugin-like mods. Your story with your old save give me willpower to continue my journey. I believe I'm still a long way before I get this achievement of having less than 5 CTDs Happy gaming pal. anjenthedog
FWIW, the other, more adult website that many visit for some mods not offered here at Nexus has a listing of mods that have and have not been updated to 1.5.80/2.0.16 standards. I'm not on that particular computer right now, (technically same computer, but on a different OS) so I can't offer the link for you at present, but I will try to return later this evening and provide it, if you are not already aware of the posting I'm referring to. That listing may help you in determining which mods are valid, which require an update to provide sufficient 1.5.80/2.0.16 behavior, and which you'll need to remove and clean records from saves (or fallback to saves prior to their inclusion into your game) I followed it carefully to update my mods, in addition to what little guidance Nexuses entries provided. It was imo essential to properly updating all the mods in my game, and in concluding that some had to be ridded from the game due to no hope of future updates in those mods (ex: HTD physics engine) PS> I don't mean to disparage MO, in fact I know nothing about it aside from many postings both here in the "forum" and in individual mod postings (effectively subfora for the mods themselves) I've read from people who complain that their game is inoperable and in which they state that "they use MO" (or MO2 as the case may be), and that, from my own 40 years of computer experience, as an engineer, as an electronic music composer, as an artist, as an amateur astrophotographer, and as a sometimes (albeit inconsistent) gamer that low level tweaking is often a time consuming and complex process fought with many gotchas along the way. I'm not involved with Vortex or MO in any capacity beyond being a player who installs mods to augment his gameplay, just a player who doesn't want to spend his life playing with configuring game settings. I'm sure that's fun for some, but not for me, and I presume that to be the case for most players. I've fallen into the trap of ending up doing that with other things in which I ended up spending more time on side issues than actual game play, and I found it an incredible time waster. I'm here to play Skyrim, not play "setting up Skyrim". idk about you, but I don't have that much free time in my life. And it's that that I'm alluding to. In any case I do hope you're able to resolve your issues and will report back with the link unless I see a posting from you indicating that you're aware of and in possession of the post link to which I'm referring. LucasGMF
Well, I'll check on that later, thanks for the help. For now, I'll try to do some things that may or not lessen my problems. So far, I'm planning the following: I'll try to clean all my modsUpdate their FormIDs to 44Make new merges with these modsTest these merges I don't know what I'll do next, but this is my current goal
LucasGMF
If the merges do not work, I'll check on info about them, use NifScope and see if there are any mesh errors, or maybe, as a last resort, try disabling a few of them, and hopefully, this works. LucasGMF
Thank you, I'll be checking it later when I finish the other stuff, hopefully soon. Wish you a happy gaming pal.
LucasGMF
Well, tried run the game alone with only the merged armor and weapons, but the merged armor gave me CTDs. I'll investigate that now. EDIT: Altough I had CTD when browsing through the items from the merge using AddItemMenu, the gameplay was still smooth. I tried going to Riverwood and cleared the Embershad Mine without CTD. My guess is that there is probably some mesh/file corrupted.
