spartanonyx
I had to recently reset my windows install and vortex was removed but all my mods are still there. I really don't want to reinstall all these mods by hand and I am wondering if there is a way since it keeps telling me it cant install directories. To be honest i am just confused if there is a way to move from one staging folder to another. I have all the files just dont know if there is a way. Any help would be nice. thevictorwc3
I just had the same issue all my mods are in the folder but vortex wont allow me to set the folder as the mod staging folder because it "must be empty." Hopefully there is a solution I would rather not re-download everything and then have to go through the priority settings again. I wonder if making a new folder and then dragging the files in would work?
BigBizkit
I am afraid there is no way to sort of "re-attach" a staging folder to Vortex. When you wiped your windows install, all the meta information Vortex had about your mods was wiped with it. Your best course of action is to reinstall the mods from their archives. BeowulfSchmidt
If all you want to do is avoid redownloading your mods, trey renaming the folder that contains all your mod downloads, then install Vortex, open Vortex, and then copy and drag all the mod archives from the old folder and drop them on the Vortex âdownloadsâ panel. If you want to avoid reinstalling all your mods, I think youâre out of luck. As was mentioned, Vortex maintains some metadata about the mods youâve installed, and thatâs gone. Hopefully, one of the devs can provide more information if that is in fact possible.
