"SetBarterGold" Cheat Is Not Working - WHY

Hi All

 

I am trying to increase the gold amounts of merchants with the cheat above cause i am sick of visiting merchants several times because of their limited gold amounts.I learned the cheat above but it is not working and i wonder why.As it is explained in the cheat instruction,i opened the console,targetted the merchant,typed SetBarterGold 8000 and pressed enter.After this,the writing of "Actor's base barter gold is 8000" appeared but when i checked the merchant's gold it didn't change.I tried this several times but nothing changed.Does anybody know what is wrong and what should i do ?I updated the game with Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul 1.33 patch,can this be the reason ?Also 1.2.0416 official patch is loaded.

If you have living economy active as part of OOO, the barter gold of all merchants will be controlled by that mod. Living economy may be using scripts which cause the value to revert to certain settings any time the value is different. Having living economy active would also explain why the merchant has less gold as they buy things from you, this behavior does not exist in vanilla oblivion, but was seen as marginally exploitave and unrealistic.

 

Please try to be a bit more aware of what the mods you are installing affect. Many problems are caused simply because people don't read and considder the implications of installing mods.

You are absolutely right pal.I deactivated "living economy" of OOO from data files menu,tried again and this time cheat worked.
