uijk718293
I was quiet happy with SSE until I encountered ridiculous bug which sends off NPCs floating off into sky on stressed out place such as cities. Anyone found solution for this bug?
anjenthedog
Nope. I'm not sure if it's a fundamental flaw in the way the Map" works (did you know that when you look at the stock map you're literally looking at a zoomed out view of the actual Skyrim playing field?"), or if it's some virus like behavior a mod author has "humorously" injected into his or her mod, but it happens. Regarding the map, what I mean is that it *appears that when you open map (for instance, try opening the map while sitting a top a horse. Can't say for anyone else but when I do so, and then when I escape the map, it is almost inevitable that the horse begins flying, as if they've lost their "gravitational attachment" to the ground) . One thing that might explain that is if their base z-axis value gets corrupted by the scaling issues mathematically exposed during the zoom out for map display (or zoom in when the map is closed and we return to the "normal" zoom level). While small zooms (like zooming into first person and out to combat mode) might not cause such an issue, diplaying the map zooms by orders of magnitude, potentially shifting critical details numbers right off the register and leaving zeroes when you return. A gross example is like dividing the floating point number 10.232422 by the integer value 10. result: 1, not 1.0232422. If that 0.0232422 is important...well you're sol dude. we dumped it. Regarding mod influence, I give you an anecdotal from my own game play as an example of what I mean: in my case I used to encounter that "flying/floating people and beasts thing frequently (and I mean *frequently*, as in multiple times per game play even if only for a half hour or so) when I had OSA/OSEX installed. The occurrence has dropped dramatically since I uninstalled and deleted the OSA framework and companion OSEX mod, along with (very important to purge any mod ties) falling back to a save prior to installing it for my primary character (all her saves subsequent to installation of OSA/OSEX are unplayable and have been since the 1.5.80 update. in fact, it was pretty dicey even when they were playable) . I fell back to a level 16 save. She's now level 40. I've had perhaps 6 CTDs to date since the reversion, as well as even fewer of these anomous people and animals falling out of the sky incidents. They were *common before. As in every time I played and often mumltiple times during play. In addition, a new (male) character also rarely experiences the behavior. He's now level 34. .And... several other oddities have also gone away after getting rid of OSA/OSEX (another is the drastic reduction in random CTDs). I can't say with 100% certainty that OSA/OSEX was the source but between that behavior going away upon its removal and several other odd behaviors also going away... To me at least, they're a good experiential case on my part for correlating the weird behaviors with the mods in question. If you find your house has been robbed the day after you invite over some person you don't know very well, (and repeatedly every time they show up at a party you host) and when you stop inviting them over, the robberies stop too...well you be the judge... Personally, I don't believe in faeries. Personally, although I have no "hard proof", I suspect it's a combo of the two. Questionable mods AND the map. So if I were you, I'd try to figure out when this became a palpable problem for you, and maybe disable/uninstall the mods that were installed just prior to its increased incidence, then check via a new game and or a save that predates said mod installation. edited for many spelling errors and to revise content
