Kiwa
Well for some odd reason several of my mods aren't appearing on the mod manager or in game despite following the instructions. Several weapon mods and such have done this, but the one I notice most is the Reznod Mannequin mod. When I open it up in Winrar I see a folder called "textures" a readme and a .esp file. I do what it tells me to and extract it all to the data folder, but it's not appearing anywhere, can anyone help me here? Am I doing something wrong? EDIT: The title should say "Mods" Sorry, I'm still not used to this new keyboard.
Kiwa
Also, I have had someone tell me that when installing a new mod all you need to do is put the .esp file into the folder without having to bother with everything, is this true? Shadowcran
You also have to click them on in the Oblivion data files. If you've never used any mods or official mods then the only thing checked on it will be Oblivion.esm . Click on each mod name you want to add. Kiwa
I use XP Professional if that explains anything. But I'll do what the mod says, in the case of another one called the Armour of Hades, I'll put the data folder in the oblivion data folder (It says to put it there) and yet when I do, the mod doesn't appear on the OMM.For some awkward reason this and a few other mods I have create their own folders when extracted, which the other mods I have that work do not, I think this is what I was requesting help about to begin with, what do I do with the mods when they're like this? Shadowcran
ohhh. Not all mods contain esp files or esm files. However, once they're downloaded into your data folder, they're working. There are a bunch like this. Female Eye CandyHGECBetter looking amuletsBetter looking toolsHand to Hand Animation FixElven Map Redux There are actually quite a lot of them. Too many to list them all. However, I assure you they're working. If you wish to make an omod without an esp or esm file inside it, no problem. Simply create the file by adding the archive you downloaded. Go to create on the Mod Manager, select "Add archive' and go to the one you downloaded. Nothing will appear in the box but trust me, the meshes, textures, sound, extras or whatever are in there. Then name the mod yourself and create. The majority of these mods don't even count toward that 255 mod limit. They're working though, trust me. bben46
Don't put the mod folder into the data folder, unzip it into the data folder. If you already have mod folders in the data folder you can move the files into the proper places by: move any .esp files directly into the data foldermove any .bsa files directly into the data folder.move any meshes folder contained in the mod folder into the meshes folder inside the data folder - answer yes if it asks if you want to overwrite files.move any texture folder inside the mod folder into the texture folder in the data folder - again answer yes to overwrite.move any sounds folder in the mod folder into the sounds folder inside the data folder. Your mod may not have all of these types, that is not a problem as not all mods have all of them. the simplest mods only have a .esp .bsa is a special Bethsoft compressed file format, not often used by mod makers. If your game shows ocasional yellow blocks with an exclamation point it means you are missing a mesh file. missing textures can either show up as invisible in the case of clothing and armor, or a flat purple color in the case of other objects.
