Thunderboss89
I used to use the construction set for the disk based game back in the day, so I'm still somewhat familiar with modding. I downloaded and installed the construction set for the steam version of the game. For some reason, the construction set won't load the master files, or any files at all for that matter. Is there something I'm missing?
TheRealAnimeSpot
I used to use the construction set for the disk based game back in the day, so I'm still somewhat familiar with modding. I downloaded and installed the construction set for the steam version of the game. For some reason, the construction set won't load the master files, or any files at all for that matter. Is there something I'm missing? When you try to load the master files do they not show up at all or when you select them to be loaded do you get an error? For me, the master files wouldn't show up because I copied and pasted them into the same directory as the .exe file. I had to copy the folder the were in, 'Data Files', in order for them to show up. Or you could just create a folder called 'Data Files' and place them in there, assuming that's what the issue is.
Thunderboss89
Yeah, they're not showing up at all. I have a multitude of mods already installed, but when I go to use the tool set to make a few mods of my own, that's where the problem starts. Only reason I'm asking for help here is because I've never seen this happen before and was wondering if I'm just simply missing something that's so obvious. I am prone to doing that sometimes lol. TheRealAnimeSpot
Well, copying the Data Files folder and pasting it in the same directory as the TES Construction Set.exe should definitely work then.
Thunderboss89
Okay cool. Well, I'll give it a shot when I get home from work and I'll let you know what happened. Thanks.
Thunderboss89
So hey, I just wanted to let you know that I figured out the problem. The problem was I extracted the construction set -INTO- the data file folder, which is why it wasn't picking up any Master files. Thank you again for the help, I don't know why I didn't realize the problem myself sooner.
