TWSFGaming
I've had this happen to me recently, when I would clear out Fort Dunstad and Fort Greenwall, the Imperials would hold it, then I would leave for a couple days and check on the map next to Legate Rikke, and the fort would be under Stormcloak control. Anyone else having this issue?
thumbincubation
Do you have any mods which include fort takeovers? I'm not sure but I think some of the older versions of Immersive Patrols had that.
TWSFGaming
I don't think I do, and I don't have Immersive Patrols either.
anjenthedog
I ran into several posts from people after I noticed that clearing Fort Dunstad didn't result in a (Cleared) indicator (No, not with the civil war, just bandits), and several said that it's a bug associated with the fact that it's a civil war location as well as a bandit location....I didn't really pursue it much more after that, but fwiw, you might do a wider net search (including "oldrim" skyrim) for a full discussion. thumbincubation
I'm afraid I can't be of much help, because I run a bunch of mods that spawn more enemies, so it's not unusual to see forts change hands between Imperials, Stormcloaks, bandits, wizards, etc. Sometimes I even arrive in time to watch some battles. thumbincubation
So I managed to clear Fort Dunstad this play through, for the first time. Usually, it isn't garrisoned unless I'm in the civil war quest, but I haven't joined any sides and yesterday I went back to find Stormcloak soldiers and banners. What I did differently, and I have no idea whatsoever how I've missed it until now, was enter the captain's quarters. There was nobody inside, but for some reason I've been missing that door. Maybe because when I hit the fort, I usually have to turn around and fight along the walls, toward the tower? I don't know, but that seemed to do the trick. Stormies have it now. (For now?)
